GridLock Privacy Policy

Last updated: January 14, 2026

Data Privacy Commitment

We never look at the content of your VaporNET activities. Your personal information, communications, and data transmitted within VaporNETs remain completely private and are never accessed, analyzed, or viewed by GridLock staff or systems. However, we do collect usage metadata necessary for service operation and billing, including: number of VaporNETs owned, connection frequency and duration, number of members per VaporNET, traffic volume and bandwidth usage, and performance metrics (latency, packet loss, etc.).

Data Storage

No user content data is ever stored on GridLock servers. Your files, messages, and data transmitted within VaporNETs remain on your device and are transmitted directly between VaporNET members using end-to-end encryption. We operate a zero-knowledge architecture where we cannot access your content. However, we do store necessary account data including: username, email address, hashed passwords, billing information, and VaporNET configurations required for service operation.

Marketing Communications

We may send unsolicited email or SMS messages for marketing purposes. These communications will include information about new features, service updates, and promotional offers. You can opt out of marketing communications at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions in our messages.

Information Sharing

We never sell your info to anyone. Your personal data, usage patterns, contact information, and any other data associated with your GridLock account will never be sold, rented, or otherwise transferred to third parties for commercial purposes.

VPN Traffic Handling

GridLock uses the Android VpnService API to create encrypted tunnels between your devices and other VaporNET members. We do NOT: intercept, inspect, log, modify, or redirect your network traffic. The VPN routes traffic only to servers and devices you explicitly connect to within your VaporNETs. No traffic is routed through GridLock-operated proxy servers for monitoring purposes.

Acceptable Use

GridLock is designed for legitimate private communication between trusted parties. Use of GridLock for illegal activities, harassment, distribution of harmful content, circumventing security measures, or any activity that violates applicable laws is strictly prohibited. Violations may result in immediate account termination and, where required by law, cooperation with law enforcement authorities. Users are solely responsible for ensuring their use complies with all applicable laws in their jurisdiction.

Security

GridLock uses industry-standard encryption and security practices to protect your data in transit. Since no data is stored on our servers, the primary security responsibility lies with your device security and the security practices of VaporNET members you connect with.

Data Collection

We collect data you directly provide through the app interface including: account information, VaporNET names and descriptions, and messages you send using the GridLock messaging facility. We also collect usage statistics for service operation and billing including: VPN connection duration and frequency, data transfer volume, service uptime and performance, and feature usage patterns. We do NOT collect: chat messages sent within VaporNETs, social media posts or messages, other third-party communications, location tracking data, or behavioral analytics for advertising purposes.

Diagnostic Data Collection

To improve app reliability and troubleshoot issues during use, we may collect diagnostic information when the app crashes, encounters errors, or under user control. This includes: crash reports with stack traces, system logs, device information (model, Android version), app version, and network configuration details. We do NOT collect passwords, authentication tokens, TOTP secrets, message content, file contents, or any other sensitive user data. Diagnostic data is stored securely and retained only as long as necessary for debugging purposes, then permanently deleted. Access is restricted to our development team.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we update this Privacy Policy, you will be notified and required to review and accept the updated policy upon your next login to the application. If you do not accept the updated policy, you will not be able to continue using GridLock. Your explicit acceptance of updated policies is required; continued use without acceptance is not possible.
